Open a
new image 200 X 75. I like to use a white background. It
makes it easier for me to see what I'm doing. Zoom in several
times so you can see better.
-
We'll
start out by drawing the heart. Set the foreground color to a dark
pink and the background to a light pink. I used #D2557F and
#ECB2C8. Select the paintbrush tool
with the following setting. Size 1, hardness 100, step 25,
opacity 100. With the dark pink draw the following image.
The numbers show how many pixels to draw.
Select the center of your heart with your magic wand and flood fill it
with the light pink. Float the selection and apply a cutout with
the settings horizontal and vertical 0. Opacity 100. Blur 5.
And the color is the dark pink you used for the outline. Duplicate
this layer 2 times by right clicking on your heart layer and selecting
duplicate from the menu. Select one of the heart layers and flip
the image. Line up the 3 hearts with the upside down one in the
center like this.
-
Add a new
layer under your hearts layer. Change your foreground color to a
brown. I used #A57841. With the paint brush tool and the
same settings as before we will now draw some twigs. You can
either do this freehand, or I find the easiest way is to click where you
want the twig to start and then hold down the shift key and click again
where you want the twig to end. Repeat until you have something
like this.
-
Draw some
little branches off of the long twigs. Something like this.

-
You may
need to use the eraser at this point to erase any stray pixels.
You want this to look tidy :-)

-
Add a new
layer. Change the foreground back to the dark pink and the
background to the light pink. With the paint brush using the same
settings only change the brush size to 2 add small dots on the branches
for the flowers.
-
Delete
the background layer. Merge visible and you're done!
