Silver Goblets

We will be creating a goblet from preset shapes. This tutorial was created in PSP 7.04. Remember to save often.

1. Open new image 400 X 400 transparent. Have your ruler turned on.

2. Add a new layer. Set foreground color as #A0A0A0 and background as #F3F3F3. The foreground is set to null and the background is foreground background gradient with an angle of 0 repeats 0. Select the preset ellipse with antialias checked and vector unchecked. Line width doesn't matter. Draw an ellipse from 126 X 348 to 237 X 367. Go to selections, select all, float and then apply a cutout with the following setting. Vertical and horizontal are both 0. Opacity 75, blur 10, color 808080. Deselect. Save.

3. Add a new layer. The gradient settings stay the same. Draw an ellipse from 162 X 343 to 197 X 352. . Select, float, and apply the same cutout with the blur of 3. Deselect.. Save.

4. Add a new layer. Choose the rounded rectangle preset with the same settings as before. Change the gradient angle to 90 and repeats 1. Draw a rectangle from 170 X 215 to 187 X 344. Select, float, and apply the same cutout with the blur of 10. Deselect. Save.

5. Add a new layer and with the same settings for the gradient as on the previous layer draw an ellipse from 165 X 205 to 193 X 216. Select, float, and apply the same cutout with the blur of 3. Deselect. Save.

6. Add a new layer. With the same settings draw an ellipse from 103 X 50 to 253 X 210. Go to the selection tool and select the rectangle. Draw a selection from 90 X 45 to 270 X 100. Delete the selection. Select, float, and apply the same cutout with the blur of 30. Go to effects noise and apply noise with a setting of 3 uniform. Select, float, and apply the same cutout with opacity of 50 and the blur is 30. Deselect. Save.

7. Add a new layer and change the gradient settings to angle and repeats 0. Draw an ellipse from 105X94 to 245X107. Select, float, and apply the cutout with the opacity of 75 and blur of 3. Deselect.

8. Add a new layer on the top for your text. I used the font Duchess, but feel free to use whatever font you wish, a chunky font works the best. I used the font size of 20; have both anti alias, bold and selection checked. Type in Bride. Select the mover tool and right click on your selection you can move it into the correct position on your goblet. Apply a cutout with the following settings. Vertical, horizontal and blur all are 1 and opacity is 100. The color is #808080. And then apply a drop shadow with the following settings. Vertical, horizontal and blur all are 1 and opacity is 100. The color is white. Deselect. Save.

9. Now do a shift D to duplicate the image, delete the text on the text layer and repeat step 8 only typing in Groom, that way they both have a goblet to drink from.

10. Merge visible. All finished!
