Computer Chair
In this tutorial I will show you how to make a computer chair. I used several different tutorials to create the above graphic. The hatboxes are from Handmade From the Heart. The computer is inspired by a tutorial by Arizona Kate. You can find the picket fence tutorial on my tutorial pages.
You will need JASC's Paint Shop Pro. Get a trial copy here. My black metallic gradient. Download a zip file here, and unzip it into your PSP gradients file.
Open a new image 350X350 transparent. Add a new vector layer named back. With foreground null and background #5A8BB6 select the ellipse preset with vector and antialias checked and draw an oval.
Click on the object selector
Then click on the top node and push each end of the arrow in slightly.
When you are satisfied with the back. Right click on the back layer and the convert to raster layer. Go to selections, select all and float. Apply a cut out with the following settings vertical and horizontal 0, opacity 100, blur 30, color #386180. Add noise with a setting of 10 uniform. Deselect. Save. Add a new vector layer named seat. Draw an ellipse with the same colors and settings under the back for the seat of the chair.
Click on the object selector and go to node edit. Click on one of the side nodes and pull the arrow slightly up and down to slightly flatten the sides of the ellipse.
When you are satisfied with the seat convert the layer to raster, select, float, and apply the same cutout and noise that you used for the back of the chair. Deselect. Save. Add a new raster layer. With the preset rectangle. Antialias checked and vector unchecked, foreground is null and background is my black gradient style linear gradient, angle 90 and repeats 0. Draw a rectangle up the center of the back of the chair as shown. If necessary use the deform tool to adjust it. Save. Time for a little break, and then on to page 2.
