Hamburger Soup
1 lb lean ground beef
1-2 cans of beef bouillon
1 med. onion chopped
5 c. water
1 lg. can diced tomatoes, undrained
3 med. carrots, peeled and sliced
2 stalks celery, sliced
1 1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. chopped cabbage
2 c. fresh or frozen green beans
1 tsp. basil
2 med potatoes, peeled and cubed
1 tsp black pepper
In a large Dutch oven brown the beef and onion; drain well. Add everything except the cabbage and beans and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for about 15 minutes or until the potatoes and carrots are tender. Add the cabbage and beans; cover and simmer another 15 to 20 minutes or until the beans are tender. Serves 8.
