Foam Candy
(My Mom's favorite candy)
1 c. sugar
1 c. dark karo syrup
1/2 t. molasses
1 T. vinegar
1 T. soda
Combine sugar,
syrup, molasses and vinegar in a heavy saucepan and stir over medium
heat until dissolved. Continue cooking until it reached 300 degrees
on a candy thermometer or until a little dropped in cold water is very
brittle. Remove from heat and beat in the soda very quickly. Pour into
a lightly buttered 9X13 inch pan and do not spread. When cook break
into pieces and dip into chocolate coating.
Chocolate coating
6-oz. Pkg. Chocolate chips
4 oz. Semi-sweet chocolate
1/3 bar paraffin wax
Melt in the top of a double boiler.
